The All Progressives Congress
(APC) candidate in the upcoming Kogi state governorship election, Prince
Abubakar Audu has promised the people of the state that he will revive the
moribund Ajaokuta Steel Rolling company if he gets the mandate of the
people.

Prince Abubakar
Audu (APC) and Captain Idris Wada (PDP)
Audu, who is also a former governor of the state made the remark when he received over 100 Okun youths who visited him to identify with his aspiration, Leadership reports.
Audu also assured the youths that his administration
would address the problem of youths unemployment, which he said would be
achieved through revitalisation of the steel company.
He stated that his administration will work towards
reviving the company because it has the capacity to absorb 90 per cent of the
state’s workforce.
He informed the youths of his readiness to work
closely with the federal government and relevant authorities at the centre to
ensure that his plans are well executed, adding that funds will be raised
from the capital market to achieve his goals.
He further noted that revitalizing the company will go
a long way in addressing the issue of joblessness confronting the state, just
as he stated that the state also stands the chances to earn huge income from
revenue expected to be generated from the company.
Meanwhile, Kogi state governor,
Idris Wada has warned that a vote for Audu will drag the state back to the dark days
which was characterized by constant attacks.
The governor also alleged that Audu’s first term in
office was the most divisive in the history of the state as he allegedly
promoted ethic bigotry.
It will be recalled that Wada had
claimed that the APC in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria is delaying the bailout fund of the state despite
being one of the first states to apply with full documentation for the federal
government’s bailout fund.
