A Colossal Loss - Saraki
The Senate president, Bukola
Saraki, has described as shocking the demise of the acting clerk of the Senate,
Adedotun Durojaiye, calling it a colossal loss to the nation.

The chairman of the National Assembly made this
statement through his spokesman, Yusuph Olaniyonu, on Monday, November 9.
Saraki explained that the late civil servant served
the country well and was dutiful in his contributions to the course of national
development.
He said: “We in the National Assembly and in
particular, the Senate, received the news of the demise of Durojaiye with great
shock.
“He was a vibrant and exceptional public officer. ýHe
was there at the inception of this Eight Senate. He conducted the elections of
presiding officers. We will surely miss his vast experience, his vibrancy and
commitment to legislative duties.”
Saraki consoled the deceased family saying that they
should strengthen their faith in God knowing that death is an inevitable end
for all humans.
The Senate president prayed that God should give the
family of the late clerk the fortitude to bear the huge loss.
Durojaiye died on Sunday, November 8, at a hospital in Abuja.
Family sources said that the deceased had taken ill for some time before he
finally gave up the ghost.
He was in charge of the
inauguration of the 8th senate and conducted the elections of principal
officers on Tuesday, June 9 which produced Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu as
Senate president and deputy Senate president respectively.
