Unemployment: Amaechi
Plans To Hire 30% Of Govt Workers
The ministerial ambition of
former governor of Rivers state Rotimi Amaechi was finally laid to the rest
today, November 11, as he joined 35 other ministers to be sworn in into the
cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Amaechi’s inauguration was quickly followed up with
his portfolio which revealed he was going to head the Ministry of
Transportation.
However, study shows that Amaechi’s new appointment
comes with lot of responsibilities in the new government as he is going to
supervise and control several Parastals and agencies which employ over 30% of
the entire Nigerian civil servants.

Waterways
1. Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC)
2. Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA)
3. Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency
(NIMASA)
4. Nigerian Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA)
5. Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC)
6. Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT)
7. Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN)
Aviation
1. Federal Airport Authority Of Nigerian (FAAN)
1. Federal Airport Authority Of Nigerian (FAAN)
2. Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)
3. Nigeria Air Space Management Agency(NASMA)
4. Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB)
5. Nigerian College Of Aviation And Technology (NCAT)
6. Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NMA)
Land Transportation
1. Nigeria Railway Corporation
2. All Federal Roads In Nigeria ( Including but not
limited to Construction, Maintenance And Supervision)
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari have
successfully slashed the federal ministries to 25 from 29 ahead of today’s
inauguration for the 36 incoming ministers.
The ministries of police affairs, aviation and special
duties appear to have been scrapped while ministries of Lands, Housing, Urban
Development and Works have been merged to become Ministry of Works and
Housing.
In the same vein, the information, culture, national
orientation and tourism ministries have been collapsed into one Ministry of
Information and Culture while the Ministries of Sports as well as Youth
Development have also been merged to form the Ministry of Sports and Youth
Development.
Among other mergers, the Ministry
of Aviation is now under the Ministry of Transportation, as the president
retired 17 permanent secretaries and announced the appointment of 18 new ones
in a decision taken on Tuesday, November 10, 2015.
