President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, November 11,
2015 inaugurated 36 ministers who were recently screened and cleared by the
Senate.

The ceremony which started at about 10.00 am lasted for 2 hours, 30 minutes ending at exactly 12.30 pm.
Below are 8 things to note from the inauguration
today:
1. The federal ministries have
been slashed to 25 from 29.
2. President Buhari announced himself the substantive
minister of petroleum resources while the immediate past Group Managing
Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Ibe
Kachichukwu is now the Minister of State for Petroleum.
3. The ministers took their oath of office in 9
batches of four each.
4. Everybody in the set of former Lagos state
governor, Babatunde Fashola is a lawyer.
5. President Buhari’s arrival sent jitters to the
attendees at the meeting, he was also said to have arrived a few minutes before
the commencement of the event.
6. Aisha Mohammed was the first minister to arrive for
the inauguration.
7. Aisha Alhassan (Mama Taraba) did not shake hands
after signing the dotted lines on the register.
8. After the inauguration, the Federal Executive
Council held its inaugural meeting for the first time.
The president last week hosted
the incoming ministers to a retreat, during which event he warned them over
their foreign trips, and asked them to avoid waste and shun impunity
as they work together to build the country.
