Wada Accredited After INEC Card Reader Rejected His PVC
Reports coming in from the ongoing governorship election in Kogi state revealed that the incumbent governor, Idris Wada, and his wife had issues with accreditation as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voters card reader rejected their Permanent Voters Card (PVC).
The Cable reports that the governor who is running on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) angrily stormed out of polling unit 001 Odu in Dekina local government area of the state.

It was reported that the PDP candidate came around 12.pm to be accredited, but the voter card reader rejected his fingerprints.
The first lady of the state
reportedly suffered the same fate as her husband, but she was said to have
filled the incident form before angrily walking away from the polling unit.
Meanwhile, the Nation has
reported that governor Wada has been accredited in his polling unit though the
process was not smooth following the malfunctioning of the Card Reader, which
failed to verify his Permanent Voter Card. It was reported that the governor
came to Odu Ward 1 Unit in Anyigba at about 11.20am for accreditation, but was
delayed for about 20 minutes before the exercise was executed.
Reports have it that
numerous attempts to make the card reader work proved abortive, a development
that quickly made the presiding officer to opt for an incidence form for the
governor.
Reacting to the presiding
officer and the card reader failure, the visibly disturbed Wada said: “How
can that happen?.”
The incumbent governor
alleged that there was a plot to upturn the poll, and promised to call the
Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Halilu Pai to make an official complaint
to that effect.
Wada said he will emerge
victorious in the poll if the process is free and fair. There was also a mild
drama as the governor’s wife, Halima, could not find her name on the voters
register and was made to fill an incidence form.
