The Punch reports that Adeniyi Sulaiman, the chairman of the group, wrote a letter to the chairman of the EFCC on Monday, November 2.
In a letter, a copy of which was sent to President
Muhammadu Buhari, the CHRSJ noted that the allegations were weighty and called
for immediate prosecution.
Sulaiman stressed that the allegation of forgery,
fraudulent conversion and obtaining of N400 million against Prince Ogunwusi and
his company should be thoroughly investigated.
The group warned the commission that if it failed to
begin the prosecution after seven days of receipt of the letter, the CHRSJ
would get court injunction to compel the EFCC to prosecute the new Ooni of Ife.
“We wish to
refer the Honourable chairman to the contents of a weighty petition involving
various acts of criminality namely forgery, fraudulent conversion and obtaining
the sum of N400m by false presence levied against the above named person.
“We also refer the chairman to the EFCC’s letter dated
17th September 2015 to Principal Parter, Olawoyin (Legal Practitioners) and a
letter dated 23rd September 2015 from Olawoyin & Olawoyin (Legal
Practitioners) to EFCC on the same subject matter.
“In view of the foregoing. We hereby request your
commission to prosecute immediately upon the receipt of this letter,” the letter read.
Meanwhile, Prince Ogunwusi has been moved into seclusion at a shrine
known as Ilofi in Ile-Ife, Osun state, where he will stay for the next 21 days.
During his stay in seclusion,
which is a part of preparations towards his coronation, the
Ooni-deisgnate will go through initiation processes into different cults.
