Bukola Saraki, the Senate president said the
meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari
and the leadership of the National Assembly
resolved to work amicably for the growth of the
country.
Speaking on the outcome of the meeting with
State House correspondents on Wednesday
evening, October 7, Saraki said they talked
about how to fulfill the promises they made to
Nigerians during their election campaign, Punch
reports.
This is the first official meeting President Buhari
would be holding with the National Assembly
leadership since Saraki was elected as the
Senate president on June 9.
The Senate President met with Buhari at Aso
Rock along with the Deputy Senate President,
Senate Leader, Deputy Leader, Whip, Deputy
Whip, Minority Leader, Deputy Minority Leader,
Minority Whip and Deputy Minority Whip, as well
as the same leaders of the House of the Reps.
According to the Senate president, Buhari
initiated the meeting to interact with the
leadership of the NASS.
He said: “ It was a very useful session, being the
first one. This kind of interaction helps in ensuring
smooth relationship between the two arms of
government.
