Senate Makes U-Turn, Bows To Pay Cut

After initial hesitation, the Senate has finally
bowed to the decision of the Revenue
Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission
for a downward review of salaries and
allowances of federal lawmakers by 50%.
The Senate president, Bukola Saraki
President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice,
Yemi Osinbajo have already cut back their
salaries by 50% as revenue from oil continued
on a free fall trend. Some state governor also
followed the lead of the president.
Senator Umaru Ibrahim Kurfi made this
disclosure on Tuesday, September 6 in a chat
with newsmen, Today reports.
