Osinbajo Departs Nigeria For South
Africa

Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s vice
president departed for Pretoria, South Africa in
the early hours of Friday, October 9.

A statement issued by Laolu Akande, the vice
president’s senior media aide stated that the
nations second-in-command will be away for
three-days.

According to the statement, Osinbajo will
participate in a number of events which include
the commissioning of the consular building of
the Nigeria High Commission in Pretoria among
others.
He will also attend programmes at the House of
Revival Church in Brakpan and pay a courtesy
call on his South African counterpart, Mr. Cyril
Rhamaphosa.
The vice president will hold an interactive
session with the Nigerian community in South
Africa before returning to Abuja on Sunday,
October 11.
In another development, Osinbajo has urged
Nigerians to prepare for an imminent increase in
electricity tariffs.
The statement was made when the Vice
President spoke at a meeting with
the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN)
on Thursday, October 8.

He said it is not possible to keep the tariffs at
the current level and expect optimal services.
The second-in-command went on to clarify that
for Nigeria to attain the desired change which it
longs for in the power sector, then a change in
tariffs is inevitable.
