Court Postpones Saraki’s Case
‘Indefinitely’
The Abuja Appeal court has indefinitely
postponed ruling on the case between the
Senate president Bukola Saraki and the Code
of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
The court gave no reason for adjournment and
to communicate a new date to all parties at a
later date.
In September, Saraki had approached the
appeal court seeking to stop his trial for
supposed false declaration of assets at the
CCT.
The Senate president was arraigned on
September 22, after he tried ineffectively to use
the Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal
to thwart his arraignment.
Saraki was scheduled to return to the Code of
Conduct Tribunal on Wednesday to face federal
prosecutors who maintain that they have
overwhelming evidence against him.
The CCT has slammed a 13-count charge of
corruption on Bukola Saraki.
