The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has
kicked against growing calls from some
sections of the country for the embattled
Senate president, Bukola Saraki to turn in his
resignation following his trial at the Code of
Conduct Tribunal (CCT) for alleged false
declaration of assets.

The association noted that voters were aware
that some politicians were corrupt before voting
for them into various positions of authority and
therefore warned against the sacking of those
elected to serve the people, The Punch reports.
According to the national secretary of CAN, Rev.
Musa Asake, in an interview with The Punch
noted that though his association is not partisan
but the warning has become imperative as a
way of cautioning Nigerians over the issue.
